Our Mission: Provide educational and personal growth opportunities for revitalizing health professionals with the healing spirit of their work.
Our Story: Over five years ago, seven of us began gathering with the vision & desire to create healing programs for health care professionals. As all of us had some connection with Harmony Hill Retreat Center, most being ‘House Mothers’ for cancer retreats. We chose it as the first location for our programs for two reasons: First to allow participants to experience the beautiful healing environment of ‘The Hill’ and next to support their work providing hope & comfort to those living with cancer.
Our early attempt was to bring an existing program to Harmony Hill and act as it’s sponsor. This attempt was not successful. We also struggled with what format our group would take… Would we create a non-profit? A business? As we worked through those starts and stops a very interesting experience emerged…
We continued to live our lives… The joys & the difficulties… Our roles as women, professionals, mothers, partners, friends. We continued to gather. We spent time together doing business… Laughing… Eating… Planning… Traveling to the sacred Island of Iona, Scotland and the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. Being present with each others traumas… Sharing ideas, fears, vision & hearts-open-wide. And always… Telling our stories.
We are nurses working in a variety of positions. Through it all we are nurses. Together we love the profession and especially the women and men who choose to be a nurse. And one day we realized… We were ‘creating a program’ by living & sharing our lives. In the bonding, support and shared vision… The seven of us became a community of nurses. And at the heart of the healing we experience… Is the telling of our stories.
